Gospel singer Olaoba recalls Toluwanisings’ final ministration

Nigerian gospel singer Bidemi Olaoba has mourned the passing of his colleague Olayemi Bolaji, known as Toluwanisings, following his death on Wednesday. Toluwanisings collapsed at his residence and was later pronounced dead, despite reportedly being turned away by several hospitals. The incident occurred on the day following his performance at a 'In His Presence' worship service organized by Olaoba in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Olaoba expressed his grief in a Facebook post, featuring a video of the late singer's performance at the event. He described the death of the singer, famous for his song 'Kabiesi Olorun Ayo', as leaving an immeasurable void. Despite the sorrow, Olaoba found comfort in the hope of eternal life and the assurance that those in Christ do not face death's end.

Reflecting on their last encounter, Olaoba expressed regret for not giving his colleague more time to minister if he had been aware that it would be their final performance. He noted that if he had known the performance would be their last, he would have held Toluwanisings longer, embraced him more tightly, and allowed him the entire night to praise God and pour out his heart, as he was accustomed to seeing him do.

Other gospel artists also expressed their shock and condolences on social media. Pelumi Deborah recalled their recent interaction and described the loss as difficult to comprehend, while Dare Melody characterized Toluwanisings' death as a "rude shock" and stated that it felt unreal.
