Former Celtic defender Carl Starfelt has been ruled out of Thursday's Europa League match against Celtic due to a muscle tear in his right leg, revealed through an MRI. Starfelt, who spent two years at Celtic from 2021 to 2023, had been expected to return to the club he once called home. His absence has left a void in the current Hoops side's defensive lineup, with Dane Murray stepping in to fill the right-back position while Cameron Carter-Vickers recuperates from an injury.
Starfelt's time at Celtic was marked by both praise and criticism from fans, but his contributions to the team's defensive record cannot be understated.
