Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets have been eliminated from the 2026 WAFU-B U-17 Championship, meaning they will miss both the 2027 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2027 FIFA U-17 World Cup. The team, which has never qualified for the U-17 AFCON before, finished last in their group after a 1-1 draw with Ivory Coast and a 2-1 loss to Niger Republic. This marks the fourth consecutive World Cup that the team will miss, with their last appearance dating back to 2019.
