DAP reps who fail performance targets risk losing candidacy in GE17, says Loke

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 — Anthony Loke, DAP's secretary-general, announced today that DAP representatives must meet stringent key performance indicators (KPIs) or face the possibility of losing their candidacy in the upcoming general election (GE17). According to Berita Harian, Loke emphasized the importance of integrity, discipline, and commitment for all DAP lawmakers.

He warned that those who fail to meet the party's standards may not receive their candidacy letters when the next election arrives. At the opening of the 24th Perak DAP Convention, Loke explained that the party employs a rigorous monitoring system to hold representatives accountable and ensure they serve the public. This evaluation encompasses various aspects, such as grassroots involvement, constituency work, community service, and party activities, with a focus on lawmakers' physical presence in their areas.

Loke affirmed that this monitoring framework proves effective, with Perak DAP representatives remaining highly active on the ground. He noted that while the monitoring mechanism applies nationwide, each state tailors its approach. Loke stressed that the Perak DAP monitoring system is particularly strict, citing its positive impact on maintaining active representatives.

When questioned about seat allocation for the upcoming Melaka state election, Loke revealed that the decision has been agreed upon at the state level.
