'Cleaning up that stench' - Dillon Brooks seemingly takes shot at Kevin Durant over Suns' culture
Dillon Brooks appears to have picked his side in the feud between Kevin Durant and Mat Ishbia. The veteran superstar was called out by the Phoenix Suns owner recently, who suggested that his investment in bringing the forward to the team contributed to their shortcomings.
Dillon Brooks seems to have taken a shot at Kevin Durant in the ongoing feud surrounding the Phoenix Suns' culture. The Suns' owner, Mat Ishbia, recently criticized Durant, suggesting that his investment in the player contributed to the team's struggles. In response, Durant defended the team, stating that the Suns were a .500 team with numerous internal issues before his arrival.
Now, Brooks has weighed in, and it appears that his support lies with the Phoenix Suns. Brooks joined the team in July 2025 as part of a significant trade that sent Durant to the Houston Rockets. Known for his confrontational nature, Brooks targeted the very man he replaced in his latest Instagram Story. Following Ishbia's controversial comments about Durant, Brooks posted a photo with an intense message: "Thanks, Matt, for cleaning up that stench in the locker room before I came. #Culture."
While Brooks did not explicitly name Durant in his post, the message clearly aimed at the former Suns star. The upcoming game between the Suns and the Rockets in November is expected to be even more heated due to Brooks' apparent dig at Durant.
