Bauchi health agency boss, four children die in auto crash

The Executive Secretary of Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency (BASHCMA), Alhaji Ibrahim Ladan Duguri, and four of his children perished in a tragic motor accident in Yalwan Duguri, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State. The incident allegedly took place on Saturday evening, as per a statement released by the Bauchi State Government on Sunday.

Identified among the deceased were Duguri's children Hajara, Usman, Rukayya, and Maryam, while his son Suleiman was reported to have survived the crash. Governor Bala Mohammed conveyed his profound sorrow over the incident, calling the loss of Duguri and his four children a tremendous blow to the state. The governor lauded Duguri as a committed public servant who played a crucial role in enhancing healthcare services, especially for underprivileged residents.

He also highlighted Duguri's significant contributions to the state's health contributory management system while serving as the head of BASHCMA. The governor recalled Duguri's involvement in providing healthcare support to pilgrims during their visit to Saudi Arabia. He expressed deep pain at the tragedy, as he considered Duguri not just a valued public servant but also a close friend and classmate.

The governor prayed for the recovery of Suleiman and requested Allah to grant eternal peace to the deceased and his four children in Aljannatul Firdaus. He urged residents to show support to the bereaved family through prayers and compassion during their mourning period. According to DAILY POST, the funeral prayer for the deceased is set to take place at 11 am on Sunday, October 18, at the palace of the District Head of Yalwan Duguri.
