ASI held for showering money on dancers in Sahiwal

Sahiwal: Yousafwala Police have initiated legal proceedings against two individuals, Rustam Ali Bhatti, an ASI from Fatah Sher Police Station, and Bashir Ahmed Bhatti, the caretaker of Hazrat Diwan Baba Haji Sher's shrine, for lavishly showering currency notes on dancers during an annual shrine festival on Friday night. The incident came to light after a viral video on social media, prompting DPO Usman Tipu to order a case under Section 294 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 155C of the Police Order.

The video showed ASI Rustam Ali Bhatti himself showering money on the dancers. In response, ASI Bhatti was apprehended and taken into custody. Police are now actively searching for the shrine custodian, Bashir Ahmed Bhatti. Chief Justice Aalia Neelum of the Lahore High Court visited Pakpattan on Saturday, paying her respects at the shrine of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Ganj Shakar.

Following her visit, the Chief Justice inaugurated a newly constructed Judicial Complex and officially launched the installation of solar panels at the court premises.
