World : New White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia Steps Down
WASHINGTON, Oct 17 (Bernama-dpa) -- White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia has stepped down after just days in the role, a senior US administration official told dpa on Friday.
Katie Zacharia, who served as White House press secretary for a mere five days, has expressed her admiration for US President Donald Trump. In a social media post, Zacharia described Trump as "kind, wonderful, gracious, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and hardworking" and stated that she "wish[ed] more Americans appreciated him." She went on to say that "no one will ever make America great the way he has and continues to."
Zacharia's brief tenure as press secretary came to an end following reports that President Trump had either fired her or transitioned her into a new role, though the exact details remain unclear.
