The Content Repurposing Engine: A Teardown of the n8n Workflow That Multiplies One Post Into Five

The Content Repurposing Engine: A Teardown of the n8n Workflow That Multiplies One Post Into Five This is part of my build-in-public series on running LLM workflows in n8n in production. Everything here is from a real template I sell and support — the mistakes are mine, the fixes are tested. The pipeline in 30 seconds One source post in → a distillation node that extracts the core idea, the…

This article is part of a series detailing the process of creating production-grade AI workflows in n8n. A specific example is provided: a single source post is transformed into five platform-specific pieces using a streamlined workflow. The process is broken down into three main failures and their corresponding fixes.

Firstly, the workflow initially produced five outputs, but they were all the same text in different formats. Each platform has its own native format that rewards native behavior. The solution was to establish per-platform voice contracts as hard constraints, which guide the output rather than being suggestions. This ensures each platform's native format is adhered to, enhancing the piece's effectiveness on that specific platform.

Secondly, all five pieces were published simultaneously, which cannibalized engagement. The fix was to stagger the publication across a week, with each piece opening with a different angle of the same idea. This way, even someone who sees all five pieces gains five unique perspectives on the original idea. This strategy created a sustained engagement over a week rather than a single spike followed by echoes.

Lastly, there was an issue with content carrying references from the source that were not platform-specific, rendering them ineffective. The solution was to include a portability check before publishing. This validation node scans each output for platform-incompatible elements, such as references to elements not present on that platform or formatting that doesn't translate well.

If flagged, the node instructs the platform node to rewrite the content to make it self-contained. This ensures every piece stands alone and makes sense to someone who never saw the source material.

The Field Type You Pick in Ten Minutes Is a Ten-Year Decision

Mei runs procurement at an equipment manufacturer with about 700 people. Their platform went live three years ago. Last month she asked me a question that sounded like a two-minute request.

  • Choosing a field type in low-code platforms is a ten-year decision.
  • Wrong field type choice can lead to significant headaches.
  • Field type impacts database functionality and object states.

Stop hand-writing TypeScript interfaces from API responses. Seriously.

I kept a file in one project called types.ts that was substantially a transcription service. Every time the backend added or changed a response shape, I'd paste the sample JSON into a comment and…

  • Author avoids hand-writing TypeScript interfaces by using TypeGen tool
  • TypeGen generates clean interfaces from JSON or CSV payloads
  • Generated interfaces explain assumptions and flag ambiguous fields for manual review
