Lazio are reportedly in discussions to extend the contract of Nigerian midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, according to the Daily Post. The 25-year-old joined the Stadio Olimpico club from Turkish side Hatayspor in 2024, despite facing injury issues. Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport indicates that Lazio are eager to retain the player for the foreseeable future, with two years still left on his current contract.
The new deal is expected to play a crucial role in securing Dele-Bashiru's future at the club. Reports suggest that the Nigerian has been the subject of interest from Premier League teams in the past. Lazio are also exploring the possibility of extending contracts for Danish winger Gustav Isaksen and Italian midfielder Nicolò Rovella.
Dele-Bashiru made his return to action for Lazio following a hamstring injury that he suffered during the opening match of the season against Bologna. He appeared for 30 minutes in the club's 3-1 victory over Monza in a recent game. Lazio are set to face Juventus in a Serie A match on Sunday.
