Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction of 20 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Imo State. The kidnapping occurred on Nigeria’s Independence Day while the victims were travelling through the state, according to Punch Nigeria.
The 20 corps members recently regained their freedom after spending several days in captivity. Daily Post Nigeria reports that the arrests were made through a joint operation involving the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force. A security source cited by TVC described the arrests as a major relief following a wide-ranging manhunt for the abductors.
