The Lahore Traffic Police have introduced a two-day complimentary scooter riding training program aimed at empowering female students and enhancing their self-reliance. Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Sheerazi revealed that women can obtain free training at five designated driving schools scattered across the city. Additionally, directives have been issued to all in-charge officials to conduct free training sessions.
School and college administrations have been urged to reach out to the traffic police for organizing special training sessions tailored to their needs.
Training facilities have been strategically set up at Liberty, Greater Iqbal Park, LOS Ferozepur Road, and Manawan areas. A dedicated free driving course for women is already underway at LOS Ferozepur Road. To cater to the convenience of female participants, separate Gen Z counters have been established at all training centers.
During the two-day training sessions, expert instructors will provide hands-on instruction to female students on scooter riding, safe driving practices, and understanding traffic regulations. Sheerazi emphasized that over two lakh driving licenses have already been issued to motorcyclists this year. Moreover, special measures are being implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of women drivers on the roads. The announcement was published by ProPakistani.
