Former Steelers Wide Receiver Arrested on Domestic Assault Charge

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver and return man Cordarrelle Patterson has been arrested on a domestic assault charge, according to TMZ. Patterson was booked into a Tennessee jail early Saturday morning and was seen grinning in his mug shot. The Steelers released Patterson in July last year during training camp, and he has not been with another NFL club since.

Patterson was signed by the Steelers in 2024 due to his kick return prowess, but his performance that season was disappointing, as he finished with a career-worst 21.8 yards per kickoff return average. Patterson, who is the NFL's all-time leader with nine kickoff returns for touchdowns, had previously played for the Atlanta Falcons and credited his relationships with coaches Arthur Smith and Mike Tomlin for his decision to sign with the Steelers.
