Ferguson link has caused a 'real buzz' - McCann

Tim McCann, interim joint-manager of Glentoran, expressed enthusiasm upon hearing the news of former Everton striker Duncan Ferguson potentially becoming the team's next manager. McCann, along with Paddy McCourt, has been in charge of Glentoran since Duncan Devine's departure in mid-September due to the team's slow start to the season.

Despite initial doubts about the reports, McCann highlighted the significance of Ferguson's arrival, praising his stature, experience, and knowledge as a top pro and international player. Glentoran's recent victory against Limavady, secured through an injury-time goal from Daniel Larmour, has sparked excitement among fans and observers alike.

Ferguson, who had two stints as caretaker manager at Glentoran and a brief managerial stint at Forest Green Rovers, is now expected to lead the team to a new chapter. While his lack of familiarity with the Irish Premiership is a concern, McCann and McCourt's coaching team could prove beneficial during Ferguson's initial adjustments.

With a talented squad featuring star striker Pat Hoban, the appointment of Ferguson, if confirmed, could be one of the most high-profile managerial appointments in Irish Premiership history, potentially delivering the trophies that have eluded Glentoran for the past decade.
