Cat goes missing at Dubai airport before Sri Lanka flight, owner still waiting five days on

A woman from Dubai is still awaiting news about her missing cat after it went missing at Dubai International Airport on October 11, before boarding a flight to Sri Lanka five days prior. Avishka Kaumadi had taken her cat as air cargo and completed the necessary documentation and payment process. The cat was inspected and returned to its carrier after being checked against the accompanying documents.

However, around 8.30pm to 9.25pm, the cat escaped from the carrier and could not be found despite a prolonged search by Kaumadi and airport staff. Although she declined to board the flight without her pet, Kaumadi stayed at the airport for an extended period of around 28 hours, with her contact information recorded for updates. She returned to the airport on October 12 to follow up on the search, but was informed that her cat had not been found yet and that arrangements would be made for its transportation to Sri Lanka if discovered. Kaumadi remains hopeful for a reunion with her missing pet.
