In a surprising development, the Pittsburgh Penguins faced an injury setback before their match against the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena. As expected, Elmer Soderblom and Ville Koivunen featured prominently in the line rushes, but the absence of winger Egor Chinakhov created an unexpected twist. Chinakhov is currently being assessed for a lower-body injury sustained during practice in Chicago on Thursday.
The team has not yet provided a prognosis regarding his recovery. While Koivunen, who has contributed two points in five games this season, has taken Chinakhov's spot alongside Tommy Novak and Evgeni Malkin, Chinakhov's impact has been significantly diminished, having scored just one goal and amassed two points in seven games this season.
