Barcelona defender Joao Cancelo is making a strong impression on the Galatasaray dressing room after a notable performance in their recent match. According to SPORT, Cancelo's goal was a key highlight during Barcelona's 4-1 victory in Istanbul. The Portuguese full-back's goal came in a match where Barcelona had been trailing, helping to level the score before half-time.
Cancelo's resurgence has been impressive, especially as competition for places at Barcelona increases with the emergence of younger players like Xavi Espart. However, Cancelo's increased contributions have pushed both him and Espart to elevate their performances, giving manager Hansi Flick more defensive options. Cancelo offers a unique profile to Barcelona with his technical ability, composure in tight spaces and willingness to venture into attacking areas.
His attacking instincts complement his defensive responsibilities, particularly when his team faces opponents who limit space in the final third. Cancelo's equalizer against Galatasaray showcased his ability to make a significant impact when it matters most.
