Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has praised Emelia Affi Agbenyo's competence and integrity for her newly appointed role as Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC). Ablakwa admitted that the appointment may not be favorable for optics, as it may seem controversial due to Agbenyo's past affiliation with the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
However, he emphasized that he has known Agbenyo since student activism days, describing her as independent, fearless, and committed to her country.
