Vodafone Idea Appoints Former Ola Electric Executive Manoj Murali As Chief Operating Officer From October 19

New Delhi, October 16 - Vodafone Idea Ltd has announced the appointment of Manoj Murali as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), with the transition set to take effect on October 19, according to a regulatory filing released on Friday. The decision to appoint Murali was made by the company's board, following the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

With over two and a half decades of experience in the telecom and mobility sectors, Murali boasts an impressive track record in driving revenue, market share, and profitability for large-scale operations in India and Africa. Throughout his career, he has successfully led business turnarounds in various areas including sales, marketing, distribution, operations, and customer experience.

Murali's expertise spans a wide range of industries, including mobile, broadband, direct-to-home (DTH), payments and banking, mobile commerce, and digital businesses. Prior to joining Vodafone Idea, Murali served as the Chief Business Officer at Ola Electric, showcasing his ability to adapt and excel in different roles and organizations.

Previously, Murali held positions at Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, further expanding his experience in the telecommunications industry. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) in Pune, and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree from the University of Poona.

The appointment of Murali comes as Vodafone Idea continues to navigate the challenges and opportunities in the rapidly evolving telecommunications landscape.
