Nanded, October 16 - Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University (SRTMUN) Vice-Chancellor Dr Manohar Chaskar inaugurated the Dnyantirth-2026 inter-collegiate youth festival on Friday, emphasizing the university's commitment to students' all-round development. The festival, jointly organized by SRTMUN and Science College Nanded, aims to showcase students' talents and foster creativity and personality development through cultural and extracurricular activities.
Dr Chaskar highlighted the significance of youth festivals as platforms for students to discover their potential and build confidence. He stressed that educational institutions must provide students with opportunities to express themselves and establish their identities, regardless of obstacles caused by natural or man-made events. Ensuring uninterrupted student development activities was a collective responsibility, he added.
The festival kicked off with the ceremonial unfurling of the flag by Dr Chaskar, followed by the singing of national songs, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere. A grand procession, themed "Krantisurya Mahatma Jyotiba Phule: A Great Social Reformer," highlighted Jyotiba Phule's contributions to social equality, education, and social awakening. Student artists from various colleges participated enthusiastically in performances and tableau presentations.
Renowned actor Bharat Ganeshpure, the festival's chief guest, encouraged students to maintain a positive outlook and enjoy life without undue stress. He urged students not to assume the world's burden rests on their shoulders, emphasizing that they should live freely, enjoy life, and remain happy. SRTMUN officials, university dignitaries, faculty members, and students attended the inaugural ceremony, which began with the worship of Swami Ramanand Teerth's portrait and the lighting of a ceremonial lamp.
The event aimed to promote artistic development and foster interaction among students from different colleges.
