HBO's "True Detective" is set to bring Nicolas Cage and Antonio Banderas together in Season 5. Issa López, the show's new showrunner, will write, direct, and executive produce the season. Cage was previously linked to the role of Detective Henry Logan in August, and he confirmed his involvement at New York Comic Con last weekend.
Banderas will play Rai García. The series will focus on a mystery in Jamaica Bay, New York, and López says supernatural elements will carry over from Season 4. This marks the first time Cage and Banderas have shared the screen. Cage's filmography includes "Face/Off," "Next," "Leaving Las Vegas," "The Rock," "National Treasure," "Moonstruck," "Arsenal," "Snowden," "Dark," "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent," "Dream Scenario," "Looking Glass," "Longlegs," "The Surfer," and "Gunslingers."
Banderas is an Academy Award-nominee known for "Pain and Glory," "Tony," "Babygirl," "The Mask of Zorro," "Desperado," "Interview With the Vampire," "The Skin I Live In," and "Puss in Boots."
