The Cucurella – Carreras conundrum: Jose Mourinho faces a tough decision at Real Madrid

Real Madrid face a difficult decision over left-back selection between Marc Cucurella and Alvaro Carreras under manager Jose Mourinho. While Cucurella possesses experience and a proven track record, Carreras is emerging as a strong contender to become the team's first-choice option. The competition stems from Madrid's defensive struggles this season, prompting Mourinho to seek greater stability.

Carreras' key strength lies in his ability to defend one-on-one effectively. At 23 years old, he generally remains composed when facing direct wingers, maintaining disciplined positioning and making it challenging for opponents to breach his defensive line.
