Gavin Doty, a Syracuse University junior guard, holds a special place in his heart for his time at Siena College. After leading the Saints to a Metro Conference championship last season, Doty is returning to MVP Arena on Sunday to celebrate Siena's 2026 title. Doty, who wore the Metro Tournament MVP honor, will take part in a ring and banner ceremony at 1:30 p.m. before the Orange and Saints face off in an exhibition game at 2 p.m. Former Siena teammates and Syracuse players Brendan Coyle, Reid Ducharme, Isaiah Henderson, Owen Schlager and Chris Torres will be among those in attendance.
Doty, from Fulton, grew up attending Orange games at JMA Wireless Dome and is excited to wear an orange jersey once again. Although he had an off night in his first game with Syracuse, Doty remains optimistic about the team's potential to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
