Ruto launches second phase of KMTC Eldama Ravine Campus

President William Ruto inaugurated the second phase of the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Eldama Ravine Campus in Baringo County, emphasizing the importance of the institution in nurturing human resources for health and supporting Primary Health Care and Universal Health Coverage. The ceremony marked a significant step in the Government's dedication to expanding medical training opportunities and bolstering the nation's health workforce.

During his visit, Ruto pledged an additional Ksh 150 million to construct a student hostel, which will accommodate the growing number of students as the Campus continues to expand. The first phase of the project, funded by the NG-CDF Board under its Corporate Social Responsibility Programme, featured the completion of eight classrooms and the construction of an administration block currently under development.

These initial facilities were made possible through a Kshs. 22 million contribution from Karen Roses Kenya, Eldama Ravine Branch.

KMTC Eldama Ravine Campus is situated adjacent to Eldama Ravine Sub-County Referral Hospital, occupying a 5.5-acre plot of land. Joseah Cheruiyot, the Board Chairperson of the College, expressed gratitude to the President, Eldama Ravine Member of Parliament Musa Sirma, the Ravine hospital board, Karen Roses Kenya, Eldama Ravine Branch, and the local community for their support in establishing and developing the Campus.

Cheruiyot also urged for further assistance in building and equipping computer and skills laboratories, acquiring a double-cab utility vehicle, expanding student accommodation facilities, and securing additional land for future growth.
