QC discusses ways to enhance investment cooperation with Belarus

Doha witnessed a meeting between the Acting General Manager of Qatar Chamber Ali Bu Sherbak Al-Mansori and the Chargé d'Affaires at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Qatar, Aleksei Zubko, on October 14th. The dialogue focused on improving trade and economic relations between Qatar and Belarus, as well as identifying areas of potential collaboration.

Al-Mansori commented that relations between the two countries were positive, but trade between them was below expectations. He emphasized the significance of exchanging trade delegations to strengthen ties and boost trade and investment between the two nations. The Qatar Chamber and Belarusian Chamber of Commerce had signed agreements to establish a Qatari-Belarusian Joint Business Council, which Al-Mansori urged to be activated to further the bilateral relationship.

Zubko expressed Belarus' desire to deepen cooperation with Qatar. He stated that a Belarusian delegation would visit Qatar in the first quarter of the following year to meet with Qatari counterparts and explore opportunities for collaboration in various sectors, such as technology, food security, timber, and agriculture. He highlighted significant potential for expanding private-sector cooperation between the two countries across numerous fields, with Belarus offering promising investment prospects for Qatari investors.
