Pakistan Railways Launches Newly Refurbished Passenger Train

On Thursday, Pakistan Railways (PR) formally launched a newly refurbished Millat Express train at Faisalabad Railway Station as part of its commitment to enhance passenger services. PR's Chief Executive Officer, Muhammad Hafeezullah, personally inaugurated the refurbished rakes, marking the first of three trains that have undergone refurbishment. The train service runs from Lalamusa to Karachi via Faisalabad.

Hafeezullah informed the media and passengers that PR has plans to continue refurbishing and upgrading all passenger and freight trains. During the inauguration, he praised the Federal Minister for Railways, Hanif Abbasi, for his guidance in implementing practical measures to improve passenger services, upgrade coaches, and provide a cleaner and more comfortable travel experience.

Following the event, Hafeezullah personally inspected the refurbished rake, instructing his team to ensure proper maintenance of the coaches, regular service of onboard facilities, and strict adherence to high cleanliness standards. Refurbishing rolling stock, including locomotives, is crucial in reducing derailments and other railway accidents, including fatal incidents, particularly on Main Line-1, which links Peshawar and Karachi.

The launch of this refurbished Millat Express train represents PR's ongoing efforts to improve passenger services and maintain a high standard of safety and comfort across its railway network.
