New brush fire breaks out in Southern California

A new brush fire has broken out in the San Clemente area of Southern California, driven by windy and hot weather, according to CBS News.

In Altadena, approximately 1,400 households affected by the 2025 Los Angeles fires are expected to lose their disaster case managers by the end of October. PBS NewsHour reports that this loss is due to a funding standoff between California and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. This termination of the program occurs as communities continue to recover and await billions in additional federal dollars.
