Mova V70 Ultra Complete review: a full-featured robovac let down by subpar performance

As a premium robot vacuum, the Mova V70 Ultra Complete has a whole lot of excellent flagship features, but they sadly don't come together as well as you'd expect from the price.

Mova V70 Ultra Complete review: a full-featured robovac let down by subpar performance

The Mova V70 Ultra Complete is a full-featured robot vacuum with some impressive specs, such as suction of up to 42,000Pa and long reach for side brush and mopping arm. However, the vacuum falls short in performance, particularly on carpets. It struggled to pick up oats, tea, and chia seeds even after two passes on its Max setting, and hair pickup was also lacking.

Despite the impressive side brush reach, it repeatedly retracted while traversing along room edges, leaving dirt behind. The mop arm extension also performed inconsistently, retracting along some sections of a room edge. The dual rotating mop pads were found to be less effective than rollers, making messes that a roller mop wouldn't.

While the vacuum uses a water tank for cleaning, its waterflow rate was disappointing when trying to dampen hard floors. Additionally, the docking sequence could be improved, as it sometimes required multiple attempts for the bot to properly dock itself for self-cleaning and charging. The companion app was also criticized for being slow and having settings tucked away in submenus.

In comparison to other flagships like the Roborock Saros 20 Flow and Dreame Aqua20 Ultra Roller, the Mova V70 Ultra Complete doesn't deliver on its promises at its high asking price. Instead, opting for older models like the Roborock Saros 10 or Saros 20, or the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra, would be better choices, particularly if they can be found at a discounted price.
