Meet the team: Macy Comito

Macy Comito is set to join the Iowa State Women’s Basketball team after reaffirming her commitment to the Cyclones during the media day at the Sukup Basketball Complex on October 14, 2026. A standout prospect from Carlisle, Iowa, Comito has an impressive high school background, holding numerous school records and earning multiple All-State and All-Conference honors throughout her career. She led her Carlisle team to a state championship and was named the 2026 Iowa Class 4A Player of the Year.

As a guard on the incoming roster, Comito will need to compete for playing time alongside experienced players from other programs. However, her speed, three-point shooting, and defensive skills will make her a valuable asset to the team. Pairing with fellow guards Arriana Jackson and Evangelia Paulk, Iowa State could boast one of the best defensive trios in the Big-12 Conference.

Iowa State's coach, Bill Fennelly, has emphasized returning to the "Iowa State Way," which typically includes an abundance of three-point shooting. Comito's likely role will be to take advantage of that offensive focus while also providing her own scoring opportunities beyond the arc.

With the team's emphasis on speed and range, Comito is expected to thrive in the faster, more dynamic offense. As one of the point guards, her ability to create driving lanes and find open teammates will be crucial. For fans and investors eager to see the next star from Iowa State, Comito is undoubtedly a top choice. Having been with the Cyclones her entire life, her success at the high school level strongly indicates that she will adapt well to the collegiate environment. The future for Macy Comito looks bright in the world of Iowa State Women’s Basketball.
