Deputy President Kithure Kindiki expects the 2027 General Election to be centered around ideas rather than insults, urging Kirinyaga County voters to evaluate leaders based on their performance and reject electoral violence. In a series of rallies in Ndia and Gichugu, Kindiki emphasized that the election will pit competing policies against insults and political noise.
He attributed ongoing development achievements in the region to the Kenya Kwanza administration, stating that they have prioritized road construction, electricity connections, and agricultural reforms. Kindiki cited the construction of 100 kilometers of roads and the connection of 32,000 households to electricity since September 2022 as proof of the administration's progress.
He also highlighted an increase in coffee prices, which now stand at Ksh150 per kilogramme, and assured tea farmers that the government is working to address their challenges. The Deputy President warned against political incitement and called on leaders to discourage attacks on opponents, road blockades, and looting. Kindiki challenged opposition leaders to explain their accomplishments instead of resorting to insults, urging voters to assess leaders based on their performance in 2027.
