Ismail patut letak jawatan selepas ditegur Yang Dipertuan Besar, kata peguam

Pengerusi Nasional Keadilan, Rosli Dahlan, says that Negeri Sembilan's Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim should step down after being publicly reprimanded by the state government today. Rosli claims that the reprimand exposed Ismail as a betrayer, and treachery is a grave sin in Islam, a characteristic of a hypocrite who deserves no public office.

Ismail can only atone for his disgrace by resigning and retracting his oath of office in the presence of Tuanku Muhriz, according to Rosli. The lawyer further asserts that Ismail falsely reported to the police, stating that the document contained his forged signature and making the proclamation invalid. However, he urges the Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri (exco) members to issue a statement declaring the proclamation in force since April 19.

This contradictory stance should invite legal action, he insists, as Ismail should be charged with making false information and submitting a false police report. He further alleges that Ismail lied openly but has escaped punishment, unlike in previous times when such treachery would result in execution. A video showing Tuanku Muhriz condemning Ismail circulated on social media, revealing the ruler questioning Ismail's intention to meet him.

Rosli asks Ismail not to approach him until he withdraws his previous statements, otherwise, he should leave. Tuanku Muhriz's clear anger is evident as he walks away, and Ismail can only bow in response. The reprimand from Tuanku Muhriz sparked a constitutional crisis in Negeri Sembilan, as four individuals claiming to be advisors announced Tuanku Muhriz's removal as state government head.

One of these factions also claimed to have declared Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar as the new Yang Dipertuan Besar. Last month, Ismail endorsed a statement by his ex-consort, allegedly confirming the dismissal of Tuanku Muhriz as Yang Dipertuan Besar. Tuanku Muhriz subsequently canceled the entire exco's appointment.
