How to Get Your First NICOP Online Through NADRA’s Pak ID App

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has provided guidance on how Pakistani citizens living abroad can apply for their first National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) via the NADRA Pak ID mobile application. To apply for a NICOP, certain requirements must be met: first-time applicants aged 18 and above must prove their Pakistani identity through a parent or blood relative's CNIC or NICOP number.

For those born abroad, proof of foreign birth or citizenship is necessary. Documents such as a foreign birth certificate, S1 form from a Pakistani embassy or consulate, or a citizenship or naturalization certificate are accepted. Overseas residence or travel documents, like a Pakistani or foreign passport, residence permit, or other travel documents, are required if applicable.

The application process through NADRA’s Pak ID app involves downloading the app, creating an account, selecting the New NICOP option, entering personal and family details, uploading necessary documents, completing biometric verification, paying the application fee, and tracking the status. In situations where biometric verification isn’t feasible, alternative verification through an authorized official can be sought.

Applicants have the option to submit their applications either through the mobile app or at a NADRA Registration Centre if required.
