Garba Event Permission At Sajan Prabha Garden Cancelled Over Security Lapses In Indore

Indore police have cancelled the permission for the remaining days of the Raas Ratri Garba Mahotsav at Sajan Prabha Garden following security lapses. Initially, the event was permitted to take place from October 11 to 19, between 7 pm and 11 pm daily. However, an unauthorized individual entered the event grounds on October 14 without an entry pass and was found in a suspected inebriated state on the Garba ground.

The video of this incident circulated on social media, prompting the police to investigate insufficient security measures. Consequently, the Vijay Nagar police registered a case against the organiser under Section 223(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for violating security conditions and another case against the unidentified person who entered without authorization under Section 329(1) of the BNS.

The police have also initiated efforts to identify and locate the unauthorized entrant. As a result, the assistant commissioner of police in Vijay Nagar cancelled the event's permission with immediate effect and ordered the sealing of the venue. Authorities have directed all Garba event organizers to implement robust entry pass verification, secure the presence of adequate security guards, ensure women's safety, and install CCTV monitoring.

They have been instructed to report any suspicious activity promptly to the police. The police have cautioned that strict legal action will be taken against organizers who fail to adhere to the guidelines.
