Apple is set to unveil the touchscreen MacBook Ultra and the iPad mini 8 on October 28. The MacBook may be available for purchase as early as November 6, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. This date aligns with Apple's typical release pattern, with new products often being announced on a Friday the week after a major launch event.
Pre-orders are expected to begin following the October 28 event, possibly on October 30. Gurman also confirmed that the MacBook Ultra may not feature an M6 chip, suggesting that Apple has moved on from the M6 series and will not be developing M6 Pro, M6 Max, or M6 Ultra chips. This could mean that the touchscreen MacBook will be equipped with M5 Pro, M5 Max, or M5 Ultra chips, offering a significant performance boost over the standard M6 chip.
Apple's decision to skip the M6 chips might be an effort to focus more on AI and graphics performance development for the M7 series, which is anticipated to be released at the end of next year.
