After two Afrobeat hits that expanded her fanbase and showcased a more lighthearted side, Dancehall sensation Aklerh is returning to the roots of her musical journey. Her latest single, 'Wo Dor,' under the Revolution Records label, is set to drop on Monday, October 19. This warm-hearted return to reggae dancehall and lovers rock is a testament to the sound that initially shaped her voice.
'Wo Dor,' meaning 'My Love,' is a lovers rock slow-burn with soft, melodic rhythms, mellow bass, and harmonies that envelop Aklerh’s smooth vocals. It embodies the feeling of a late-night conversation with someone dear — simple, genuine, and brimming with emotion. "After experimenting with Afrobeat in my previous singles, 'Wo Dor' brings me back to what initially ignited my passion," Aklerh shares.
"This song demonstrates my versatility — my capacity to seamlessly transition between genres and unabashedly express my creativity. Tubhani Music has done a great job with this tune, marking my return to reggae."
'Wo Dor' captures the authenticity of lovers rock while emphasizing Aklerh’s artistical journey — it’s soulful, timeless, and guaranteed to resonate with listeners of all ages. The Afrobeat singles, 'Amele' and 'Good Vibes,' highlighted Aklerh’s talent for captivating audiences with contemporary rhythms and catchy hooks. With 'Wo Dor,' she slows the pace and embraces a timeless warmth, offering both devoted fans and new listeners a tender, melodic alternative to her Dancehall and Afrobeat compositions.
Renowned for her high-energy performances, Aklerh continues to merge contemporary sounds with musical traditions, crafting songs that engage both the body and the heart. The announcement of Aklerh's release of 'Wo Dor' was initially shared on the DailyGuide Network.
