Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior has expressed fury at La Liga's decision to announce his four-match La Liga suspension just two hours before Real Madrid's UEFA Champions League match against Roma. The Brazilian winger will miss four upcoming La Liga games, including El Clasico against Barcelona. Vinicius told goal.com that he heard about the ban at the stadium, suggesting La Liga had ample time to make the announcement.
The forward also pointed out that players were not properly informed about the new disciplinary rule. Real Madrid's coach Jose Mourinho also criticized the timing of the announcement, stating that it was "shameless" to punish a player so close to a crucial European fixture. The suspension comes after Vinicius was sent off for pulling Nathan Saliba's hair in last weekend's league match against Villarreal, following a VAR disallowed goal.
