Verizon is giving certain subscribers six months of Google's $20 plan for free

Verizon has recently unveiled a range of new subscriber benefits, with one perk particularly appealing to those interested in testing out Google's latest Gemini model. Selected Verizon subscribers will have the opportunity to utilize Google's AI plan, Google AI Pro, for free over a period of six months. This exclusive offer complements other digital safety tools and loyalty benefits, though there is a catch: only new subscribers to Google's AI plans are eligible to claim the complimentary trial.

Verizon's subscriber perks have historically been a key factor in retaining customers against competitors. To keep these perks relevant, the company has introduced several new offerings in a recent blog post. Among these new perks for subscribers on Simplicity, myPlan, and Verizon Home Internet plans are enhanced digital security and family safety features.

Google AI Pro, Google's most prominent AI plan, is the focus of Verizon's attention. While there are cheaper and pricier plans, AI Pro stands out due to its substantial increase in usage compared to free and budget plans, along with additional benefits. The monthly cost for AI Pro is $20, but Verizon subscribers can now take advantage of a six-month free trial, provided they are new subscribers to Google's AI plans.

It's worth noting that if you've purchased a phone in recent years and have already used a free trial, you may not be eligible for this deal.

Upon the conclusion of the free trial, subscribers will be charged a discounted rate of $10 per month for the plan, which is still valuable considering the expanded Google Drive storage. In addition to the Google AI Pro trial, Verizon subscribers will also have access to new tools, including Verizon Digital Secure Premium, which provides a wide array of security tools to safeguard online browsing.

Verizon Family is another included tool, offering location tracking and Safe Walk to ensure the safety of all family members. Call Filters are also incorporated to protect users from scammers and fraud.

Verizon's usual perks, such as the ability to opt in to their Loyalty scheme for fee waivers on activation and upgrades, earning 3% back in Verizon Dollars, and the chance to win tickets through Verizon Shine, are still present and valuable. However, the AI Pro plan is likely to be the standout offering, as it provides subscribers with a unique opportunity to experience Google's AI capabilities at no cost for six months.

While Verizon's other perks are certainly noteworthy, the AI Pro plan is expected to be the most enticing for most users.
