Three players who share a special bond with Barcelona boss Hansi Flick, including two Bayern veterans

Three footballers, including two former Bayern Munich stars, share a strong bond with Barcelona boss Hansi Flick. Raphinha, Manuel Neuer, and Alphonso Davies have developed close connections with the German coach throughout their careers, contributing to his success at the Catalan club.

Raphinha's relationship with Flick is particularly noteworthy. The Brazilian winger was initially considering leaving Barcelona, but Flick's persuasion led to his decision to stay at the club. This move has been significant for both Raphinha and the team, with the forward becoming an important figure in Barcelona's attack under the manager's guidance. Flick has acknowledged Raphinha's influence within the squad and even entrusted him with the captain's armband and a central striker role when those positions were vacated.

Another standout relationship is that of Hansi Flick and Manuel Neuer, who previously worked together at Bayern Munich. Their bond was built on shared leadership qualities and a similar approach to handling challenging situations. Neuer, an established leader during Flick's time at Bayern, set high standards for his teammates and was influential in the dressing room. Their shared mentality and trust in each other were crucial during Flick's tenure at the club, which coincided with one of Neuer's most successful periods.

Finally, Alphonso Davies' connection with Flick is characterized by the coach's affection for the Canadian player. Davies played a significant role in developing Davies' skills during his time at Bayern Munich, and Barcelona witnessed his impact during the 2020 Champions League match against the same club. Despite his career not entirely living up to the expectations generated by his early rise, Flick still holds positive memories of their time together.
