SHE Teams nab 37 persons in decoy operations across Cyberabad

Over the course of six days from September 26 to October 2, Cyberabad's Special Hazard Enforcement Teams (SHE) conducted 116 decoy operations aimed at apprehending individuals engaging in indecent acts, eve-teasing, and harassment of women in public spaces. During this week-long initiative, the SHE teams collectively caught 37 suspects and filed 56 petty cases. Additionally, they received 15 complaints from women through various channels, as reported by the Women and Child Safety Wing of the Cyberabad Police.

In a related development, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) rescued three victims and apprehended two accused under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. Family Counselling Centres and CDEW Centres (Child Development and Welfare Centres) also stepped in to mediate marital disputes, ultimately helping to reunite 33 families.

Furthermore, both the AHTU and SHE Teams organized awareness programs at various locations across Cyberabad, reaching approximately 3,407 people. These sessions covered a wide range of subjects, including human trafficking, child trafficking, eve-teasing, social media harassment, child marriage, child rights, child labor, stalking, begging, cyberbullying, and cyber fraud. Furthermore, attendees were informed about emergency contact numbers and reporting procedures.

In a separate effort, the SHE Teams collaborated with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) to conduct a women's awareness and self-defense bootcamp at New Relic in Raheja Mindspace on September 30. The event attracted over 40 employees who participated in sessions covering safety awareness, legal rights, reporting mechanisms, emergency response, and practical self-defense techniques.
