On 14th October 2026, the La Serena Golf course in La Serena, Chile was hosting the San Miguel GS tournament. Despite the month being October, the weather was bright, warm and inviting with sunlight, water bottles and shade in abundance. The tournament commenced with 47 players eager to partake in the challenge. The first hole was particularly tricky, setting the tone for the course known for its challenges.

Despite the tricky conditions, the greens were in excellent condition reflecting the course's improvement over time. Richard McCann topped the leaderboard with 39 points and the best score of the day, followed by Willie Fenn with 37 points and Marit Ronsen with 36 points. There were a few "twos" from John Batterby and Adrian Roberts on the third and Dave Blackburn, Paul Guest and Carmel McCann on the ninth hole.

Norman Padmore won the McBride Bottle, while the best weekly prize for the football card was Coventry, picked by Mick Kilcullen. Peter Turbefield, the Treasurer, celebrated his birthday with cake. The tournament featured friendly competition and camaraderie, with post-round analysis leading to potentially improved scores. Participants included John Batterby, Mike Stott, Darren Strugnell, Greame Millington and Willie Fenn.
