Ouaddou welcomes Carling Knockout draw against ‘tough’ Milford
The round of 16 draw was conducted at the Langhams Lifestyle Estate in Johannesburg on Wednesday night.
Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has praised the Carling Knockout draw, expressing delight that his team will host their round of 16 opponents Milford FC at the Orlando Amstel Arena. Ouaddou commended the organizers for fostering a connection between the fans and the clubs, calling the competition innovative. Reflecting on their league season opener against Milford, held in August, Ouaddou anticipated a challenging match, asserting that the advantage of playing at home would be balanced with the Stallions' formidable reputation.
Coach Xanti Pupuma of Milford echoed Ouaddou's sentiments, acknowledging his team's increased confidence since their previous encounter with Pirates. He cautioned the Buccaneers that his side would present a tough challenge and urged them to learn from their mistakes. The Carling Knockout's initial round is set to commence on the weekend of October 24, with precise match schedules to be announced by the Premier Soccer League later.
