During a speech in Abuja, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, declared that no opposition candidate can match President Bola Tinubu’s record in the lead-up to the 2027 general election. He listed former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Donald Duke, and Seyi Makinde as potential challengers who could not match Tinubu’s achievements.
Yilwatda highlighted infrastructure projects completed by the Tinubu administration as evidence of his superior record. He accused the Atiku administration of failing to complete even a single 500-kilometre road, despite receiving a substantial road budget. In contrast, he touted the APC’s accomplishments, such as the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway and the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, as well as the Trans-Sahara Superhighway, which had reached between 30 and 40 percent completion.
Yilwatda defended the government’s student loan scheme against criticism from opposition figures, stating that the party had over 261,000 executives nationwide and urged the forum to work towards securing victory in the upcoming election.
