Matheus Pereira saves it late for Toronto FC | Energy Moment of the Matchday

In a thrilling 3-3 home draw against Orlando City, Toronto FC's Matheus Pereira delivered an energy moment of the matchday with a last-minute equalizer. Clutching the ball in the 90th minute, Pereira skillfully poked home a rebound from Max Crépeau's save on a long-range shot by Djordje Mihailovic. This crucial goal salvaged a vital point for the Reds, turning a potential heartbreaking defeat into redemption for Pereira.

Earlier in the match, Pereira had conceded a penalty to Orlando, leveling the score at 3-3 just before halftime. Toronto squandered two leads against the Lions, but Pereira's late goal ensured Toronto FC earned crucial points, bringing their season total to 33 points. The victory put Toronto three points shy of securing the ninth and final slot in the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs in the Eastern Conference.

Head coach Robin Fraser commended Pereira's calm and experienced demeanor, stating that he "didn't let a mistake affect him" and delivered a strong performance overall. Pereira and Toronto FC will continue their late-season playoff push on Saturday when they face Red Bull New York at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
