Martinez apologises for outburst and fined by Man Utd

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has apologised for his controversial remarks criticizing the club's management following United's Champions League loss to Atletico Madrid. In a statement released on Thursday, Martinez expressed regret for his comments, stating that the club had left head coach Michael Carrick with an under-equipped squad.

The Argentina international was subsequently fined for his outburst. Carrick is set to hold a news conference on Friday before the team's upcoming match against Leeds United, who are currently in 13th place in the Premier League with just six points from their first nine games of the season. Martinez, 28, has until the end of the season to decide whether to extend his contract with the club.
