Jaoko pens emotional birthday message to father Oburu Odinga amid health concerns

In a touching birthday tribute on October 15, 2026, Jaoko Oburu, the son of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Oburu Oginga, expressed his heartfelt gratitude and love for his father amid concerns over his health. In a post on his official X account, Jaoko thanked his father for the invaluable love, guidance, and integrity that have been a constant source of inspiration throughout his life.

"Happy Birthday, Dad. Thank you for the endless love, mentorship, and example of integrity that guide me every day. May God bless you with good health, strength, and many more joyful years. We love and honour you," Jaoko conveyed.

The birthday message arrives during a period when Oburu's health has drawn public attention, with the veteran politician missing several public engagements and reportedly receiving medical care. However, hope remains, as Ida Odinga, wife of Oburu and daughter of late Prime Minister Raila Odinga, provided an update on his condition during a commemorative event marking the first anniversary of her late husband.

Ida, alongside her son Raila Odinga Junior, assured the public that Oburu is alive but still facing health challenges, advising him to limit his activities and avoid crowded places. Raila Junior also expressed his pride and well-wishes for the family, emphasizing his father's resilience and the love that binds them together.
