The New England Revolution made a memorable postseason return, defeating FC Cincinnati 3-2 at TQL Stadium on Wednesday night. Star player Peyton Miller, a 18-year-old homegrown talent, led the way with two assists and a total of 13 goal contributions for the season. Dor Turgeman scored twice, Joshua Wynder netted his first MLS goal, and captain Carles Gil set a record with his 33rd assist of the season, becoming just the second player in MLS history to achieve at least 10 assists in six consecutive seasons.
Gil, 33, remained a consistent force despite being near the end of his career, contributing 12 goals and a team-high 10 assists. Head coach Marko Mitrović, in his first season in MLS, has overseen a youth revolution, bringing in players like Wynder and Brooklyn Raines while developing young talents such as Miller. With Robert Lewandowski's arrival later this week, New England will face a strong test for Miller and the rest of the squad as they enter the final stretch of the regular season.
