Shopify is set to launch its accelerated checkout service, Shop Pay, in India by early 2027, according to sources cited by Inc42. This software-as-a-service enables businesses to build and manage online stores, handle inventory and orders, and integrate payments and other services. Many Indian direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands currently rely on Shopify for their e-commerce operations.

Integrating Shop Pay would grant customers a streamlined checkout experience, as it allows them to save payment, shipping, and contact details for quicker future purchases, potentially increasing conversion rates by up to 50% over guest checkout. Shopify already provides its native Shopify Checkout, but Shop Pay offers an optional, faster checkout option utilizing saved customer data.
