Dahn Vo and Sandra Mujinga Selected for Met Museum Commissions

Danh Vo and Sandra Mujinga have been selected for commissions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Vo, known for his exploration of Vietnamese history and modern history, will create new works for the museum's Beaux-Arts exterior, which will be on display starting in September. Mujinga, whose practice draws from Afrofuturism, science fiction, and post-colonialism, will present a site-specific installation in the museum's interior next November.

Met Director and CEO Max Hollein praised both artists for their ability to treat history as something alive and unsettled, and to understand the ways objects and bodies carry meaning across time.
