SC Freiburg and FK Jablonec are set to face off in their opening UEFA Conference League league phase fixture at the Europa-Park Stadion. Bundesliga leaders Freiburg will host their Czech counterpart in the first leg of their European encounter.
Julian Schuster's men secured their place in Europe's third-tier competition by recording a comfortable victory over Motherwell in the qualifiers. In preparation for Sunday's trip to Leverkusen, Schuster has opted to rotate his side heavily for tonight's duel.
Attacking midfielder Yuito Suzuki will be suspended for the trip to Leverkusen, but he starts in the attacking midfielder role tonight. Christian Günter and Vincenzo Grifo have been recalled as team captains for the match.
Freiburg's lineup features Backhaus in goal, with Kübler, Rosenfelder, Günter, Eggestein, Irié, Höler, and Suzuki in defense. Up front, Grifo joins Höler in attack, complementing the midfield trio of Irié, Suzuki, and Grifo.
Jablonec's starting lineup includes Cedidla in goal, with Tekijaski, Pavlovic, Slama, Sedlacek, Okeke, Chanturishvili, Alioum, and Polidar in defense. Up front, Rusek leads the attack alongside Chanturishvili, Alioum, and Polidar.
