CelcomDigi Secures Additional 2600MHz, 900MHz Spectrum From MCMC

CelcomDigi has secured an additional allocation of 2600MHz and 900MHz spectrum from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). The acquisition, confirmed through CelcomDigi Telecommunications (CDTel), includes 2x20MHz in the 2600MHz band and 2x5MHz in the 900MHz band. This follows MCMC's issuance of an Application Information Package (AIP) on August 14, 2026.

The purchase price, totaling RM381.75 million, was paid in full on October 15, 2026. The 2600MHz spectrum assignment, valid for four years, will enhance network capacity and service quality, enabling a contiguous 2x40MHz block. The 900MHz assignment, lasting five years, will strengthen the telco's existing spectrum position in that band.

The new spectrum allocation is expected to improve capital expenditure efficiency and support Malaysia's growing connectivity and digitalization needs.
